Sir, – As motorists, we are constantly being advised to pull in when tired, have a coffee and take a break. Good advice, but I drove from Dublin to Tuam (M4 and M17) recently and found that once past Athlone, there are no parking facilities on the road. The two laybys that are there are boarded up and cannot be used. All other stops are for emergency and Garda vehicles only.
As we approach bank holiday season, shouldn’t this be rectified? – Yours, etc,
