The Irish Times - Letters to the Editor.

Sir, – On Halloween night, our callers included three serial killers, a disappointed bride (stabbed by her husband on her wedding night), a great white shark, an existentialist (when asked what he was, he said “I’m working on it”), several vampires and ghosts, and most unnerving of all in a mask made from a rugby ball, Ross O’Carroll-Kelly. – Yours, etc,

CATHERINE EARLS,

Dún Laoghaire,

Dublin.

Changing face of Halloween

Sir, – Now that Halloween is over, I have been reminiscing about my childhood and how the holiday has changed over the last half-century. Apart from the now-ubiquitous pumpkins, I feel the biggest change has been the name. It seems it is now called Halloween. – Yours, etc,

JOHN DOYLE,

Enniskeane,

Cork.
