Sir, – Concerned and perturbed parents discover sadism, sexualisation and a lack of morals in this year's selection of novels for the Leaving Cert. ("Over 40 complaints made about 'unsuitable' books on English curriculum", News, July 26th).
They believe these works are being “forced upon sensitive people” and the whole affair needs a ministerial resignation and a full investigation.
Thank goodness none of them could make head nor tail of this year’s Shakespeare – Hamlet. The shock would kill them. – Yours, etc,
