RE-FORMED Britpop band Blur are to play the Oxegen music festival this summer, it was confirmed yesterday.

RE-FORMED Britpop band Blur are to play the Oxegen music festival this summer, it was confirmed yesterday.

They join a growing list of acts, including Snow Patrol and Kings of Leon, to play the festival in July.

Blur’s appearance will be the band’s only gig in Ireland this year and will follow their two sell-out shows in London’s Hyde Park on July 2nd and 3rd. Some 110,000 tickets for the London appearances sold out in two minutes.

Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, David Rowntree and Alex James formed Blur in 1990, hitting the charts with songs such as There's No Other Wayand Country House.
