Lehane can lead Cork U-21s to victory over Tipperary

Rebel star aiming to make up for disappointing display in Munster final defeat

Hurling in Tipperary will go into hibernation if they lose here. The seniors' season is already over and, while the intermediates are back at Semple to contest a provincial final with Cork on Friday, this is the last chance for notable success.

Cork trio Christopher Joyce, Jamie Coughlan and Conor Lehane look to keep trucking after Sunday's disappointment in the Munster final. Coughlan came in and registered 0-2 but Lehane was replaced on 42 minutes with no scores to his name. That was a surprising disappointment for Cork.

Jason Forde was the closest to the Tipp seniors but the rise of Tomás Hamill and Niall O'Meara looks imminent.

Waterford and Clare will fight out the other semi-final tomorrow night.

Cork looks the better bet to be waiting for them. That's based mainly on the presumption that Lehane will produce the goods three days later than expected.
