When is a pudding not a pudding?

Sir, – Further to Robert Carroll’s letter regarding the attack by the meat industry on “misleading” descriptions such as “veggie burger” or “almond milk”, what about the black pudding?

A black “pudding” is certainly no pudding. A pudding is normally known to be a sweet cake or dessert, a treat after your dinner. A Black Forest gateau perhaps, but definitely not a black pudding.

Hands up all those who would like to finish off their meal with a greasy “pork blood sausage”. Yummy! – Yours, etc,

DAVID DORAN,
