Sir, – The Special Criminal Court has recently been called into question – not only on these pages (“Spotlight on Special Criminal Court”, Letters, February 14th) – but also on the campaign trail in the recent general election.
If the siren voices calling for the abolition of this court are listened to, and I am summoned for jury duty in some horrific case involving Ireland’s criminal gangs, may I refer the summons to the well-connected members of the liberal establishment who are calling for the court’s demise? – Yours, etc,
