Restaurant access points

Sir, – I note in Catherine Cleary's restaurant review (Irish Times Magazine, March 24th) of Locks Restaurant, Portobello, Dublin 8 that it is awarded nine out of 10.

I find this mark quite staggering, given that in the review it is stated that the restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. As a person who uses a wheelchair occasionally, it is very disappointing to see how little consideration is given to the mobility impaired community.

It is my humble opinion that any review of a restaurant should take into consideration the lack of access for wheelchairs and the marks should reflect that. If a restaurant is not wheelchair accessible it should lose at least three points irrespective of the quality of the food. – Yours, etc,

JOE ROE,
