Sir, – It now seems that the vast number of empty houses alleged to be available for refurbishment and sale to those desperately seeking a roof over their heads is a mere fraction of the number so freely claimed (News, September 14th).
Perhaps this is a matter for referral to the Garda, not to the fraud squad, but the traffic branch, which has in recent months demonstrated so well its skill with statistics. – Yours, etc,
