Sir, – Greg Scanlon makes clear his disapproval of the “listening experience” brought about by playing “an inane jingle” on the background of the RTÉ Radio 1 weather forecast. (Letters, August 21st).

Sir, – I am in tune with Greg Scanlon regarding the background musak played while the weather forecast is read on RTÉ Radio 1. Please consider people who are hard of hearing, which applies to many of my generation. – Yours, etc,
