Sir, – Yesterday I spent over six hours painting a room the size of a prison cell for my daughter who has just moved into this room in “leafy Darty”.
She, like any young adult, is delighted to have some place she can call her own. She can now have a better social life as she is living close to her workplace, TCD, as she works for her PhD.
She has looked at many different rooms from well-to-do areas such as Merrion Square, Blackrock, Rathmines and other such places.
Each and every place was riddled with squalor and dampness on walls. I have video evidence and photographs to show.

It amazes me that landlords don’t have the humanity to ensure their properties are fit for living.
Or should I be surprised that they don’t? – Yours, etc,
