‘Sunny everywhere’: Weekend to finish with highs of 22 degrees

Final day of Longitude will see over-cast conditions clear to give dry, bright weather

The cloudy, over-cast conditions which have covered most of the country this weekend are due to give way to a bright,sunny day on Sunday.

Temperatures are forecast to reach up to 22 degrees in the south and east, while tonight will stay dry and clear with highs of 11 degrees.

Met Éireann said "the last of the cloudy, humid conditions will continue to clear the south coast and today will become dry with sunny spells everywhere".

It will be a little cooler in the west and northwest, with highs of 19 degrees expected.

Monday will be another “warm, dry and sunny” day, according to Met Éireann, with temperatures of up to 23 degrees.

Tuesday will begin the same with highs of up to 25 degrees forecast, before heavy rain hits on Wednesday.

The final day of Longitude will take place on Sunday, with Mumford and Sons taking to the stage tonight. You can read our guide to the festival here.

The Galway Film Fleadh runs throughout the weekend and finishes up on Sunday with its Closing Night Gala with the Galway Street Club.

Dublin take on Kildare in the Leinster Senior Football Championship final at Croke Park at 4pm. Throw-in for the Minor final between Dublin and Louth is at 2pm.

Meanwhile Down and Tyrone will meet in the Ulster Senior Football Championship final at 2pm in Clones. Both games will be broadcast on RTÉ2 from 1.30pm.
