It might not have the kudos and pulling power of other major blues festivals, but the Monaghan-based Harvest Time Blues Festival has slowly but surely infiltrated its way onto the event calendar. The highlights this year come courtesy of Bobby Rush, Mike Morgan and The Crawl, Byther Smith and The Nightriders and former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor.

It's Rush, however, who will surely set the pace for the event. A blues entertainer who concentrates on equal opportunities eroticism, Rush has been nominated for many awards for his live performances. For blues guitar fluency it might be better to check out Mick Taylor. The Harvest Time Blues Festival begins next Thursday.
