Music discovery platform Shazam and digital music firm Rdio are to expand their partnership to Ireland, allowing users to discover new tracks.

Ireland is one of 29 countries getting access to the discovery service, which will allow users to listen free to tracks they have tagged via a special link in Shazam, and also build playlists automatically within Rdio.

Those who subscribe to Rdio’s Unlimited offering can listen to the playlists within the Rdio app on their mobile device, and sync them for offline use. The music service also offers new users a 14-day trial.

“Working together in major countries across the globe, we are now providing more than 270 million Shazam users the ability to instantly listen to an entire song they just identified exclusively on Rdio,” said Daniel Danker, chief product officer of Shazam.
