Pegasus open the defence of their Ulster League title this weekend with a familiar face back in the fold following Jeanette Turner's arrival from Portadown during the summer. Turner left Pegasus last year to become player-coach at Portadown but will now take up a similar role with the champions, assisting coaches David Scott and Eilish Macken. Cork Harlequins, meanwhile, have been informed by the European Hockey Federation that because they declined to host the A Division of next April's Cup Winners Cup, for which they qualified by winning last season's Irish Senior Cup, they have been relegated to the B Division, which will be staged in Vienna. Libertas San Saba of Italy take Harlequins' place in the A division after agreeing to host the event.
