David Moyes put his faith in the old legs of Ryan Giggs once more as Manchester United sought to achieve a positive result against holders Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-final first leg at Old Trafford.
The 40-year-old, who played in the famous 1999 final triumph over Bayern and was outstanding in the last round against Olympiacos, was one of five changes from the United side that beat Aston Villa 4-1, with Patrice Evra suspended and Rafael injured.
Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick, Antonio Valencia and Danny Welbeck also came into the side, while Marouane Fellaini kept his place.
Bayern, with the Bundesliga title already in the bag, had fielded a weakened side at the weekend but returned at full strength, with eight changes from the team that drew 3-3 with Hoffenheim.
