Belgium's Thomas Pieters will take a one-shot lead into the final day of the Czech Masters in Prague after he carded a seven-under-par 65 on Saturday.

Pieters shot an eagle, seven birdies and a double bogey on day three at the Albatross Golf Resort to approach his final round one stroke better off than closest competitor Pelle Edberg.

Sweden’s Edberg shot a flawless round of 67 which included five birdies to sit on 16 under par overall.

Denmark's Thorbjorn Olesen was three shots further back in third place on 13 under while English pair Matthew Fitzpatrick and Robert Dinwiddie were tied for fourth place on 12 under.

Michael Hoey failed to mount a challenge on moving day, the Northern Ireland golfer carding a one-under 71 to move to eight under.

Pieters, whose double bogey came on the 11th hole, was disappointed to drop two shots but was happy overall following the day’s play.

“The 11th hurts a little bit because it is my mistake. It could have been a lower one but I’m still really happy with the way I played, and seven under is a good score on a Saturday,” the 23-year-old told europeantour.com.

“I was hitting it well and putting well. There was no reason to get too upset. Things happen, it’s just a shame it happened today.

“It was nice to fight back and finish off with a couple of birdies, but I need to learn from it obviously and not make stupid mistakes like that.

“There will always be some nerves but I’ve been there before in Spain and I just need to stay as calm and patient as I can.”

Like Hoey, both Damien McGrane and Kevin Phelan also carded 71s, leaving them on six under and four under respectively.
