Patrick Reed and Jordan Spieth were hugely impressive yesterday morning for the USA, when beating Stephen Gallacher and Ian Poulter (5&4). This morning they have Thomas Bjorn and Martin Kaymer to contend with, the Danish-German pairing that halved their match with Rickie Fowler and Jimmy Walker yesterday.

That US partnership is retained for the final game o f the morning, with Fowler and Walker, the Americans’ most consistent player yesterday (11 pars, two birdies, one eagle and three holes won), taking on Rory McIlroy and Ian Poulter (8.20am).
