Brian Casey continues relentless march at European Tour school

Headfort's Brian Casey gave yet another champagne performance on Sunday to continue his relentless march to the final European Tour qualifying School.

Casey has brilliantly mastered the Panoramica course at Castella in Spain to standard on the brink of qualification for the final school.

He followed up his 65 on Friday with a 68 on Saturday and then a sensational eight under par 64 on Sunday for a 54-hole aggregate of 197- 19 under par.

The Meath man carded six birdies on his way to the turn in just 30 strokes and had three on the back nine. His only hiccup was a bogey on the 10th.

Casey goes into the fourth and last round at Panoramica today just two strokes behind leader Scott Fernandez,the Spaniard.

Also at the Castella venue Jack Hume of Naas is still in the hunt on 214 after a 74 on Sunday- his big disappointment was adouble bogey six on the 14th while Jonathan Caldwell is realistically out of the reckoning on 220.

Com Campbell junior took 70 on Sunday for a 214 total and a share of 39th place at Panoramica while Jonathan Caldwell finished with a double bogey seven for an unhappy 77 for 220- and he has seen his tour dream fade.

It was a disastrous on Sunday for Dublin's Walker Cup star Gavin Moynihan who plays out of the Island as he slumped to a miserable 80 for a 221 total at El Saler and out of the picture.

Uncharacteristically Moynihan recorded three double bogeys as he sprayed the ball all around the Spanish course.

Michael McGeady is also playing at El Saler and returned a 69 on Sunday but with a 218 aggregate has seen his dream of a card effectively disappear. And Moyola Park’s Chris Selfridge pulled out after two rounds.

And Alan Dunbar,the 2012 Amateur Champion has some work to do after posting a third round 70 for a 209 aggregate.

At Los Colinas Richard Kilpatrick who had been performing solidly blew up completely to crash to an 80 which included a triple bogey on the 15th and a quadruple bogey on the 2nd- only three players are behind him at that venue.

Rory McNamara had three birdies in a row from the 13th but a double bogey at the 2nd.in a 73 for a 54-hole total of 216 which leaves him in a perilous position.
