Tyrone GAA have confirmed that Feargal Logan, joint-manager of their senior footballers, is currently dealing with health issues.

Logan and Brian Dooher have overseen the Tyrone footballers since November 2020, when they succeeded Mickey Harte in the role.

The duo landed the Sam Maguire in their first year at the helm, enjoying an extraordinary maiden season which culminated in an All-Ireland final victory over Mayo at Croke Park.

A highly regarded solicitor, Logan was not at Celtic Park on Sunday for Tyrone’s Division One National Football League encounter against Derry.

The Tyrone County Board released a statement on Tuesday saying the former footballer missed the game because of a health scare.

“Tyrone GAA can confirm that the joint manager of our senior football team, Feargal Logan is currently dealing with some health issues.

“Feargal wants to thank everyone for their support and good wishes. On behalf of all gaels of Tyrone, we wish Feargal a speedy recovery and ask that his and his family’s privacy be respected by all at this time.”

Logan was on the sideline for Tyrone’s league opener against Roscommon in Omagh on January 28th, when the Red Hands got their campaign off to a winning start.

Much of the build-up to last week’s clash between Derry and Tyrone centred on Harte taking on his native county, but the match went off without any major incidents. Harte and Dooher shook hands and chatted on the pitch afterwards.

Tyrone’s next league outing is at home to Galway on Sunday, February 18th.

Logan previously managed the Tyrone under-21s to an All-Ireland title at that grade in 2015.
