Across Ireland, a clear shift is under way. Homeowners are turning opportunity into action and investing in their homes. From energy upgrades to full-scale renovations, 2026 is shaping up to be one of the biggest years for home improvement in decades. For anyone planning their next home renovation project, the spring PTSB Ideal Home Show, from April 24th-26th in the RDS Simmonscourt, is where those plans begin to take shape and become reality.

With rising property prices, and housing in short supply, more people are choosing to renovate or extend their existing home rather than move, and are now committing to more ambitious, long-term projects.

Perhaps the biggest catalyst this year is financial support. Through the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), a wide range of grants help to offset the cost of home energy upgrades. Revenue.ie will be at Stand K30 to advise on the Help to Buy Scheme tax incentive. Also be sure to visit First Home Scheme on Stand K42 to learn more about this shared equity scheme. The PTSB team will welcome you at Stand N50; navigating grants, understanding eligibility and choosing the right contractors can be daunting, but that is exactly why the PTSB Ideal Home Show has become such an important event for homeowners.

“The level of support now available to homeowners is a real game changer,” says exhibition director Caitriona O’Connor. “We’re seeing people who may have been putting projects off for years now ready to move forward because the financial guidance and advice are there. People want inspiration but they also want to understand how to transform their plans into reality, and that’s where the show really delivers.”
