Theresa May and the three baskets

Sir, – We learned recently that Theresa May has proposed a "three baskets" approach to Brexit ("May reveals 'three basket' model of managed regulatory divergence", News, February 23rd). The first sounds like the agreed picnic basket brimming with good food and bottles filled with bonhomie and entente cordiale. The second might be considered the bread basket of shared goals, petit pains, and baguettes. The third might be the wastepaper basket required for the collection of all those EU regulations that are no longer required by the UK. – Yours, etc,
