‘The Marriage of Figaro’

Sir, – Michael Dervan's effusive five-star review of the nascent Irish National Opera's production of The Marriage of Figaro prompted me to get tickets for its performance in the Gaiety (Features, April 16th).

While the production and performance were laudable, I was amazed to see in the official programme that a Michael Dervan was credited with being the programme editor and part of the production team.

Assuming that there is only one Michael Dervan, does this not call into question the impartiality of this particular review and possibly other reviews as well? – Yours, etc,
