Scents and sensibility

Sir, – As the weather improves and I get out and about in nature within my 5km limit, I have noticed that the natural fragrance of spring in parks, country lanes and canal banks has increasingly been replaced by the choking artificial scents of laundry detergent, deodorant and perfume from passers-by.

Am I alone in noticing this overwhelming fragrance pollution? – Yours, etc,
