New bank holiday?

Annual leave is always at the discretion of the employer, albeit bearing in mind family and personal circumstances. A bank holiday allows the majority of people to spend that time with loved ones, and to plan well in advance to do so. Those good souls who, by virtue of their employment, are obliged to work bank holidays, receive, under law, a premium for such work. – Yours, etc,

PAT QUINN,

Dublin 8.
