Sir, – I note in passing that the chief executive of Cairn Homes is calling for the Central Bank to ease restrictions and allow more money into the mortgage market (Business, September 20th).
Whilst fully understanding why a cranberry sauce manufacturer will always vote for Christmas, I would like it explained to me how pumping more money into a market with the supply problems that bedevil housing will result in anything other than upward pressure on the price of a roof over one’s head?
