Sir, – If only I could pay the customs charges (Letters, October 14th).
Having commissioned a modest gift of a portrait of a dearly departed feline, it was originally posted from the US on August 26th last, tracked across the Atlantic via USPS, arrived in Dublin Airport and was promptly sent back for some unknown customs or An Post infraction.
USPS promptly returned the package and, guess what, An Post again returned it to the US.
Currently, Lucky has had four transatlantic flights – visited Miami, Queens, Atlanta, earned more air miles than her owners, and has yet to land on all fours in Dublin. – Yours, etc,
