Covid travel restrictions for children

Sir, – Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan’s comments on inbound travel (“Vaccinated people travelling from Britain will not face home quarantine”, July 7th) were very welcome to those in the UK who are double vaccinated against Covid-19.

However, the Government has not clarified any proposed change in travel restrictions for minors or dependents who are ineligible for vaccination. As it stands, children will still be required to isolate for 14 days on arrival.

Many Irish families in the UK are desperate to return home this summer after such a long period of separation and deserve urgent clarification on this matter. – Yours, etc,

EILÍS MURPHY,
