The Irish Times - Letters to the Editor.

Sir, – The behaviour of Irish public sector unions recently has been nothing short of disgraceful. The recent strike caused real hardship to some of the most vulnerable members of our society: the sick and the poor. It was blackmail for selfish gain at the expense of others.

The latest announcement by gardaí of a work to rule during the upcoming EU summit is a further extension of this unacceptable behaviour. The security of the event is being jeopardised and the State’s reputation is being undermined. – Yours, etc,

PAUL KILCULLEN,

Stillorgan,

Dublin.
