Trump’s problems are his own creations

How will US president react if midterms go against him?

The Irish Times - Letters to the Editor.

Sir, – It’s difficult to recall a US president so unhinged and unable to grasp that the problems he faces are all self-inflicted. I’m referring to Ice operatives killing citizens in cold blood, stalemate with Iran and treacherous dealmaking with Vladimir Putin.

As Gerry Prizeman makes clear (Letters, October 15th), Donald Trump has lost it – his grip on reality is blown for all to see. It leads to more concerns at a time when inflation is heating up in the US, making his Maga following even more uncomfortable with a president who promised no further foreign madcap adventures. What further reckless action may follow if he loses the midterms? – Yours, etc,

Oh to be a fly on the wall

Sir, - Earlier today, I saw a subheadline on Sky News telling me Donald Trump had shared intelligence with Vladimir Putin. I wonder was it his own intelligence he shared? - Yours, etc,
