Sir, – Donald Trump debased United Nations principles and purposes by using its chamber to threaten Iran with total annihilation and “to drive them into hell with no chance of survival and no hope“ (News, September 22nd).
While world leaders gave his warmongering speech some applause they should have joined the Cuban delegation in walking from the chamber in protest at his total disregard for international law.
What authority and whose mandate has the US president got to use the UN surroundings for his own purposes to undermine the UN mandate whose purpose is to maintain international peace and security? – Yours, etc,
