Sir, – As details of Tánaiste Simon Harris’s grand plan continue to leak, the latest being the 1 per cent tax on savings, it looks as if all the details will be leaked before budget day.
Would it not just be better if we went back to the days when the budget was delivered on budget day with little or no detail known in advance?
Why must we endure so much hot air between now and budget day? If only we could harness it as a new form of renewable energy.
