Sir, – I refer to Gill McCarthy’s letter (“Time to consider age-friendly parking spaces”, September 15th) on “age-friendly spaces” and agree that they should be created at supermarket car parks.
I was overjoyed recently to find such designated spaces in the parking area along the seafront at Narin/Portnoo blue flag beach in Donegal. Well done to Donegal County Council. They also supply “beach wheelchairs” so users can enjoy a trip along Donegal’s most beautiful beach. Their signage regarding dogs’ use of the beach is also most welcome. – Yours, etc,
