Sir, – There is a cheap and effective way to enforce speed limits through Phoenix Park (“Park transport pains: speeding, no crossing for walkers and poorly designed cycle paths”, News, August 12th) .
Install licence-plate readers at each gate and record the time it takes drivers to get from one gate to the other. If that time can’t be achieved without speeding, then the driver was speeding and incurs the usual fine and penalty points. – Yours, etc,
