Sir, – It was hard to see, right from the start, how e-scooters could have been acceptable to the regulatory authorities as a means of transport for the general public. With their small wheels and the upright stance of the driver they are inherently, and dreadfully, unstable.
Further development has increased the speed at which they can travel, to a level that is nothing short of deadly, given their popularity with untrained, immature and irresponsible individuals. Now some people are claiming to be concerned about “legitimate” users.
For such a fundamentally unstable device as an e-scooter, there can be no such thing as a legitimate user in public places. – Yours, etc,
