Sir,- I’m in sympathy with Mary O’Dwyer and the perplexing choice of light bulbs available (Letters, May 18th).
However, a little humour helps as when I asked the assistant in my local hardware store recently about the difference between one or the other bulbs, she replied she hadn’t a clue “because you’d need a degree in bulbs nowadays”. A B. Lit perhaps? – Yours etc,
