Power of nuclear energy

Very likely all the uranium will be dead by the time the job is completed

Sir, – The half-life of Uranium-235 is approximating 700 million years. If the Government ever decided to lift the ban on nuclear energy and to build its own nuclear Ardnacrusha, it’s very likely all the uranium will be dead by the time the job is completed.

If, however, the private sector were to build the nuclear plants instead, then it’s likely we’ll all be dead when one is hit by a drone. Heavens forbid. – Yours, etc,

CHRIS FITZPATRICK,
