Sir, – Last week I ordered two identical pieces of furniture from Amazon at a total cost of €200. One piece would be delivered Saturday and the other half of the order Monday.
The Saturday delivery arrived addressed to me and I answered the door. The pleasant young delivery driver asked for my secret password, which I was unaware of, and even he couldn’t find it on my own phone messages from Amazon.
I suggested he could photograph me at my open front door receiving the package to no avail. Instead the package must be returned to Amazon and shortly afterwards I had an email from Amazon: “Sorry we missed you.”
I despair. – Yours, etc,
