Sir, – Captain Boyle hit the astronomical nail on the head over one hundred years ago when he first said to Joxer Daly in Sean O’Casey’s Juno and the Paycock “What is the moon?” Despite Artemis II, there’s still a lot we don’t know about our closest neighbour.
The predicament of today’s planet Earth is also, tragically, the same as the Captain’s century-old pronouncement – “I’m telling you Joxer ... th’whole worl’s in a terrible state o’ chassis!”
