Sir, – Fintan O’ Toole’ s opinion piece should be required reading to those who are entrenched in tribal national loyalties (“Uncomfortable truths link Israel , Palestine and Ireland”, October 24th).

If only we could all live by Leopold Bloom’s dictum: “Love, says Bloom. I mean the opposite of hatred.” – Yours, etc,
