A 15-year-old boy has died following an accident at his family's farm near Skibbereen in west Cork yesterday.
The boy was fatally injured when he was trapped between an excavating machine and another piece of plant equipment at the farm near Church Cross at about 6.30pm.
A postmortem is due to be carried out today.
The Health and Safety Authority has begun an investigation. Gardaí have also begun an inquiry with a view to preparing a file for the coroner's court.
