Elizabeth Hurley has said she will take legal action after "ludicrously silly stories" alleging she had an affair with former US president Bill Clinton were published.

The claims emerged online in the United States yesterday.

The actress, who famously dated Hugh Grant and hit the headlines when she attended the premiere of Four Weddings And A Funeral with him, said the stories were false.

Writing on Twitter, she said: “Ludicrously silly stories about me & Bill Clinton. Totally untrue. In the hands of my lawyers. Yawn.”
