Gardaí have arrested two men in relation to the shooting of two security men in the grounds of a Dublin hospital earlier this month.

The men, both in their late 20s, were arrested in the Dublin 8 area at 7.30am. They are being held in Kilmainham and Kevin Street Garda stations under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

The security men, also in their 20s, were injured at St James's Hospital in the early hours of August 4th.

The guards were carrying out a foot patrol in the grounds of the hospital campus near the Rialto exit when they were shot.

One of the men was shot in the right shoulder and the other suffered injuries to his forearm.
