University Hospital Galway has been asked to provide the nursing regulator with duty rosters for staff for the period of Savita Halappanavar’s treatment in the hospital.
The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland said it had made the request following the publication last week of the HSE’s report into Ms Halappanavar’s death because that report is anonymised.
The board, formerly known as An Bord Altranais, plans to review the rosters along with the HSE report and the documents from the coroner’s inquest last April.
A report will then be prepared for the board of the NMBI for its consideration, the regulators said in a statement this morning.
"As part of our review procedures, we have requested duty rosters and we will use them to cross reference both reports," said board chief executive Dr Maura Pidgeon.
She said the NMBI sought the inquest report and submissions into the death of Ms Halappanavar from the coroner as soon as they were available back in April.
The HSE report was referred on publication to the NMBI and the Medical Council last week by the Department of Health.
