No, it's not a mirage - Camel are back and playing Whelans on Wexford Street next Tuesday, 25 years after releasing their hit concept album, The Snow Goose. Formed in 1972, Camel released a string of successful albums, including Moon Madness, Rain Dances, I Can See Your House From Here and the aforementioned fowl-inspired epic. They went into hibernation in 1984, but returned from the prog-rock desert in the early 1990s and bringing audiences back to the days of long, noodly, neo-classical set-pieces. The band still features original leader Andy Latimer on guitar, vocals and flute.
