Profile: Richard Bruton (FG)

Dublin Bay North: First TD elected of five

The pin-up boy for much of the Dublin Bay North electorate, Richard Bruton (62) has consistently topped the poll in the constituency. After losing his finance portfolio following his failed heave against Enda Kenny's leadership, he was appointed by the Taoiseach to the Cabinet portfolio of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation. First elected to the Dáil in 1982, he has held the seat since. In that coalition he was minister for enterprise and employment. An economist with a masters degree from Oxford University, he is married with four children.
