Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald is expected to update Government on Garda reforms at this morning's Cabinet meeting.

Ms Fitzgerald is due to brief fellow Ministers on recent developments within the force when she brings a memo to Cabinet on the matter.

In addition, an update on the topic of turf-cutting on raised bogs is expected to be provided by Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht Heather Humphreys.

A total of 139 such bogs in Ireland have been designated for protection under an EU habitats directive.
