Boy (4) dies after Limerick collision

Two vehicles involved in crash which occurred near Lough Gur this afternoon

A four-year-old boy has died following a two-car collision in Co Limerick today.

The boy was travelling in a car with his parents when the collision occurred in the Lough Gur area at 1.15pm.

He was sitting in the rear of the car with two other siblings.

His parents and the two other children, along with the driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries and are being treated for shock.

The boy, who died at the scene, was brought to University Hospital Limerick where he was pronounced dead.

It’s understood the family is from Co Limerick.

The road is closed and traffic is being diverted.
