Best actor nominee for Lincoln, Daniel Day-Lewis, is not the only Irish hope for Oscar Glory at tonight’s Academy Awards.

Kerry native Fodhla Cronin O’Reilly (26) has been nominated in the best short animation category.

Her charming short Head Over Heels was co-directed with Timothy Reckart and is about an older married couple who have grown apart after many years of marriage.

“We were just aiming to get the film into festivals and to screen it to an audience . we never thought it would reach this height” Ms Cronin O’Reilly said.
