Two men in serious condition after separate stabbings in Dublin

Man critical after being stabbed at bonfire, second being treated at Beaumont Hospital

Two men are in serious condition following two separate stabbings in Dublin on Saturday evening and early on Sunday.

In the first incident, a man was stabbed at a Halloween bonfire in Dublin on Saturday at Drumheath in Blanchardstown.

The incident took place at about 7.30pm, according to gardaí. The man was taken to nearby James Connolly Memorial Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

In the second incident, a 25-year-old man was stabbed on Templeview Avenue in Clare Hall in Dublin.

The stabbing happened at about 1.10am on Sunday and the man remains in serious condition at Beaumont Hospital.

Gardaí said the stabbing followed a public order incident involving a “number of people” and two other males suffered minor injuries.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to either incident to contact them. Gardaí at Blanchardstown station (01 666 7400) are investigating the first stabbing and gardaí at Coolock station (01 666 4200) are dealing with the second.
